Notes
Performance of solar water heating systems is determined by a) amount of hot water generated from solar at the showerhead at washing temperature at 40 °C and b) the number of kWh units of electricity saved.
With that information for each system the payback point can be determined, or when do you recover the cost of your investment and the projected savings over any period can be calculated.
Calculations are based on performance at 20 MJ of solar irradiation per m2 per day and ongoing analysis from UberTrac monitored systems.
Financial calculations are based at R2.92 inc VAT per kWh (2021-2022 average rate above 600kWh per month) and with inflation of 10%.
